The Snow Village — A New Theme Every Year
Lainio Snow Village is constructed entirely from snow and ice each November. The theme changes every year. Past seasons have included Game of Thrones (2018 and 2019, which drew global media attention), Macro World, Futuristic, Around the World, Nordic Mythology, Underworld, and the Underwater World in 2024–2025. For the 2025–2026 season — the Snow Village’s 25th anniversary — the theme is Pure Celebration: circuses, international festivals, a Rio de Janeiro carnival area, and an ice bar dressed in the colours of Ireland.
The Visit — Guided Tour, Ice Bar and Free Exploration
The tour travels from Levi centre to Lainio, approximately 40 minutes each way. On arrival, a guided tour takes the group through the current year’s exhibition: decorated rooms, hand-carved sculptures, illuminated corridors and the ice bar. At the end of the guided section, warm berry juice is served in the ice bar. Guests then have free time to explore the exhibition at their own pace before the return journey.

- What is Lainio Snow Village?

- How cold is it inside?
The interior temperature is consistently around -6°C (21°F) throughout the visit, including in the corridors, rooms and ice bar. Warm clothing is essential for the entire visit. Clothing can be rented from the Safarimarket office in Levi centre.
- Is there food available at the Snow Village?
Warm berry juice is included in the tour price, served in the ice bar at the end of the guided tour. Lunch can be added as an optional supplement — choose from the soup buffet, sautéed reindeer or a three-course lunch, in either the glass restaurant or the ice restaurant. Supplements must be pre-ordered at booking where indicated. Some snacks and meals can be purchased at the warm restaurant without preorder.
- Is this suitable for young children?
Yes, all ages are welcome. The temperature inside is -6°C throughout, so young children must be dressed in warm winter clothing for the entire visit. Child price applies for ages 4–14. Children under 4: fixed rate applies.

IMPORTANT! Available to rent only at Scandinavian Travel Group / Safarimarket pick-up location (Keskuskuja 2 B 3). Clothing will not be delivered to other pick-up locations. Allow at least 20 minutes before departure to get dressed.
Recommendation
- Wear warm winter clothing suitable for sustained time at -6°C.
- Thermal layers, insulated boots and gloves are essential.
- Clothing can be rented from the Safarimarket office in Levi centre at extra charge of €10. Arrive at least 20 minutes before departure if you need rental clothing.

- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 21 days or less before the event
