  • Levi Night E-Fatbike Tour with Campfire — Arctic Night, Private Trails, Campfire in the Wilderness

Why this night e-fatbike tour stands out

    • Riding in the Arctic night — a completely different experience from the daytime tours
    • Private trails through Kätkätunturi — 10–20 km, no other riders, no village lights
    • Personal headlamps provided — the trail lit by your own light and the snow around you
    • Campfire stop in the wilderness — far from village lights

Ride into the Arctic Night — 10–20 km on Private Trails and Holiday Area Roads

The tour begins with pickup from Levi and a short transfer to the starting point at the edge of the wilderness. After bike and helmet fitting and a safety briefing, the group sets off into the Arctic night on personal headlamps. The 10–20 km route runs on private trails through Kätkätunturi — frozen marshes, open landscape and quiet woodland roads, with the fell rising alongside.

Night riding on snow has a quality of its own. The trail is lit by your headlamp and the reflected light of the snow around you. The silence is complete. The pace is relaxed and the guide stays with the group throughout.

Campfire Stop in the Wilderness — Far from Village Lights

Halfway through the tour, the group stops at a wilderness stop away from village lights. The guide lights a fire. Hot drink, a small snack, time to look up. The campfire is lit and the wilderness is quiet. If the weather conditions are good, we might get a chance to see the northern lights — though sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Ride Safely with Comfort and Power — New 2025 Helkama FE12 Electric Fatbike

You ride a new 2025 Helkama FE12 electric fatbike — Finnish-made for Arctic terrain, equipped with a 708Wh battery. Our electric fatbikes are not available as standalone rental — they are used exclusively in guided tours, which means every bike is used under supervision, properly maintained and in consistently better condition than rental fleets at other operators in the area. The wide tires and powerful motor handle uneven ground, snow, mud and gentle climbs with ease, so the focus stays on the landscape and the ride rather than the effort.

    Important remarks

    F.A.Q.

    • Is it safe to ride e-fatbikes in the dark?

Yes. Personal headlamps are provided for every rider and the guide leads the group throughout. The private trails are snow-packed and well-maintained. The pace is relaxed and adapted to conditions on the night.

    • Can we see the northern lights on this tour?

Northern lights are possible on this tour when solar activity and weather conditions allow, but cannot be guaranteed. The campfire stop is away from village lights. The guide monitors conditions on the night.

    • How cold is it on the evening tour?

Evening temperatures in the Kätkätunturi area vary from around -5°C (23°F) in early autumn to -25°C (-13°F) or colder in January and February. Dress in warm layered clothing, insulated boots and gloves. The campfire stop provides warmth midway through the ride.

    • When does the tour run?

The night tour runs 1 September to 15 March. In September and October there is still some natural light in the evening. From November onwards the tours run in full Arctic darkness.

    • Why are your electric fatbikes in better condition than at other operators?

Our electric fatbikes are not available as standalone rental. Every bike is used exclusively in guided tours — always with a guide present, always under supervision. This means the bikes are handled correctly, checked after every ride and properly maintained throughout the season. Rental fleets at other operators are used without supervision and often by riders with no prior experience, which results in significantly more wear. Our bikes are also new 2025 models — so you start the season on well-maintained, properly set up equipment from day one.
