The guarantee is simple: if no aurora is seen at all during the tour, 70% of the tour price is refunded.

A sighting is considered successful if the aurora is visible to the naked eye, through the professional camera, or through a smartphone in night mode. Even a faint visible aurora counts. This is in line with standard international aurora tour practice.

Reading the Sky — How Local Arctic Weather Knowledge Finds the Northern Lights

Most Northern Lights tours in Lapland tell you that sightings can’t be guaranteed. This one goes further. We will drive up to 200 km from Levi, in any direction, following real-time forecasts and local weather knowledge, until we find clear sky.

Cloudy skies do not automatically rule out a sighting. Cloud layers vary in thickness and wind can shift the cover quickly. On many evenings that look overcast from the village, gaps open up in the right direction. The driver has seen enough Lapland nights to read the sky, not just the forecast.

Photography — Professional Camera, Tripod and Next-Day Delivery

The driver carries a professional camera and tripod throughout the tour. When the aurora appears, they take photos of you with the lights as a backdrop. Images are processed overnight and delivered via download link the following day. Guests are welcome to bring and use their own equipment; tripods and phone holders are available to borrow.

• Departure time confirmed no later than 16:00 on the day, based on conditions
• Tour can start between 16:00 and 21:00 — guests should be flexible and ready within this window
• Return between 23:00 and 03:00 depending on aurora activity and distance driven
• Stopovers involve standing outside in Arctic conditions for extended periods
• The tour may cross uneven or snowy terrain on foot
• If conditions make a sighting genuinely impossible before departure, the tour is cancelled with a full refund

• What is included in the price?

Transportation, warm winter clothing collected at Safarimarket, warm drink and snacks, professional camera photoshoot with aurora photos delivered the next day, and tripods and phone holders to borrow. Warm winter clothing is collected at Safarimarket only — not delivered to other locations.

• When will I know the departure time?

• Is this tour suitable for children or elderly guests?

This tour is not recommended for families with small children, seniors with limited mobility, pregnant guests or guests with relevant medical conditions. Stopovers involve extended periods standing outside in Arctic cold, and the tour may involve walking on uneven or snowy terrain.

• What is the difference between this tour and the Northern Lights Hunt by Car?

The Guarantee Tour covers up to 200 km (vs 50 km for the car hunt), runs for 4-6 hours, includes warm winter clothing, and offers the 70% refund guarantee. It is a more demanding and more committed experience, not suitable for families with young children. The car hunt is shorter, more relaxed, and suitable for all ages.

The 70% refund guarantee: Applies if no aurora is seen at all. Any sighting — however faint, whether seen with the naked eye or through a camera — counts as a successful tour.

Departure: Confirmed no later than 16:00 on the day. Tour starts 16:00–21:00; return 23:00–03:00. Flexibility required.

Cancellation: By the decision of the company, if conditions make a sighting genuinely impossible before departure, the tour is cancelled with a full refund.

Warm winter clothing: Included. Collect at Safarimarket (Keskuskuja 2 B 3) at least 20 minutes before departure.

Physical demands: Not recommended for families with small children, seniors with limited mobility, pregnant guests or guests with relevant medical conditions. Stopovers involve extended outdoor standing in Arctic conditions; uneven terrain possible.

Pickup: Free pick-up and drop-off from several designated locations in the Levi area.

Child pricing: Child price applies for ages 2–11. Children under 2: fixed rate applies.

Wheelchair access: This tour is not suitable for wheelchair users. Stopovers involve standing and walking on uneven and snowy terrain.

Recommendation

• Warm winter clothing is provided — collect at Safarimarket at least 20 minutes before your scheduled departure.
