  • Authentic Santa Claus in Levi Since 1998

This Santa Claus experience in Levi offers something rare in Finnish Lapland - a real visit to a 100-year-old reindeer herder’s and farmer’s cabin, fifteen minutes from Levi centre, with a rocking chair, a crackling stove, Christmas decorations and artefacts of Lappish life. It does not look arranged. It looks lived in.

Why this is one of the best Santa experiences in Levi

    • Same Santa since 1998
    • Real historic cabin - a 100-year-old reindeer herder’s and farmer’s cabin, not a staged attraction
    • Small group experience (20–25 guests) with a personal moment for every child
    • Forest location away from crowds, fifteen minutes from Levi centre
    • Rooted in authentic Finnish Christmas traditions: storytelling, songs, dance, gingerbread workshop
    • Favourite of famous families and sporting legends - for the same reason as everyone else

What happens during the Santa experience

    • Search for Santa - the magic starts outside

The program begins at the parking area, where the Elf meets the group and leads everyone on a search - knocking on doors of the other buildings, peeping through windows as elves do - until they find Santa in his hideaway cabin. By the time the door opens, the anticipation builds on its own.

    • Arrival at the Santa secret cabin

Guests are welcomed by Santa himself, Rudolf the reindeer, and the Elf. There is time to photograph the magic sleigh outside before heading in. With a group of 20-25 people, the cabin feels lively but still personal.

    • Santa program

Santa tells the story of Finnish and Nordic Christmas traditions - how Christmas is celebrated in Lapland, what the season means to the people who live here, and why this corner of the world became Santa’s home. Then every child is called forward personally, comes to sit with Santa, shares their secret wish, and receives a surprise gift - given by Santa’s own hand, in front of the whole group. This is the Finnish way - open and communal, where every child’s moment is shared by the whole room. Then Santa leads the whole group in traditional Christmas songs - carols that belong to the Finnish Christmas season, sung together in the warmth of the cabin. If time allows, a Christmas dance follows. These are not performance moments; they are participation moments, and the difference is felt.

    • Gingerbread workshop with Mrs. Claus

Mrs. Claus hosts the gingerbread workshop: making, baking and decorating, with the Elf on hand to wrap the finished cookies for the journey home. The evening ends with glögi - traditional Finnish mulled drink with Christmas spices.

Before you book - a few things worth knowing

Our program is built on Finnish and Nordic Christmas traditions - which are real and meaningful here, but don’t always match what guests from other countries expect. A few things worth knowing before you arrive:

    • Children’s names: Learning children’s names is the Elf’s job - and they always try their best.
    • Children’s letters: Drop your child’s letter at our Safarimarket office in Levi before 12:00 on the program day. Letters are placed in Santa’s post station. Santa may not have time to read every letter during the program - we cannot guarantee he will pick your child’s letter specifically.
    • Special personal gifts: In the group program, every child receives the same standard surprise gift from Santa. Bringing personal gifts from parents is not part of the group program - it would not be fair to the other children. Personal gifts can be arranged on a private booking.
    • Daylight: In November and December, days in Lapland are short and it starts to get dark already after 2 pm - and that is exactly when our Santa program runs. Remember: the magic starts outside. Candlelight glows around the cabin, reflected in the white snow, and the blue Arctic dusk wraps everything in a blue light that bright daylight simply cannot match.

    Follow the path of celebrities

This program has long been a favorite of famous families from around the world - athletes, artists, public figures - drawn by the same thing everyone else comes for: a warm, unhurried Christmas evening with no crowds and no rush. In December 2024, the cabin in Levi, Finland welcomed one of the most recognised sporting legends on the planet - here with his family for Christmas, just like anyone else. We don’t share names. We don’t need to.

    What makes this Santa different

Most Santa experiences in Lapland are designed as attractions. This one is not. The same Santa has been hosting since 1998. The company owner’s own children sat on his knee as toddlers and, even now grown up, still believe he is real.

    Private option

The private program adds a reindeer sled ride with Santa to the cabin, personalised gifts and letters prepared in advance through our Elves, and the whole evening is shaped entirely around one family. The most exclusive private Santa experience in Levi. Contact us to arrange.

    FAQ:

    • What makes this Santa experience different from other Santa programs in Levi?

This program has been running in the same cabin with the same Santa since 1998 — that continuity is rare. The cabin is a genuine 100-year-old reindeer herder’s and farmer’s cabin in Finnish Lapland, not a purpose-built attraction. The program follows real Finnish and Nordic Christmas traditions: storytelling, communal songs, a group dance, and a gingerbread workshop hosted by Mrs. Claus. Groups are kept to 20–25 people, so every child gets a personal moment with Santa.

    • Is the Santa Hideaway experience in Levi worth it for families with young children?

For families who want more than a photo opportunity, yes. The program runs for two hours and includes genuine interaction — Santa’s storytelling, songs, a dance, a gingerbread workshop, and a personal gift for every child. The setting, a candlelit cabin in the blue Arctic dusk, is something children remember. It has been running since 1998 for a reason.

    • Will Santa know my child’s name and read their letter?

Learning children’s names is the Elf’s job and they always try their best — but we do not guarantee it. If you would like Santa to have your child’s letter, drop it at our Safarimarket office in Levi before 12:00 on the program day. Letters are placed in Santa’s post station; Santa may not have time to read every letter during the program.

    • What is the difference between the group and private Santa program in Levi?

The group program runs for 20–25 people and includes all the core elements: the Elf-guided search, storytelling, songs, dance, gingerbread workshop, and a standard surprise gift for every child. The private program adds a reindeer sled ride to the cabin with Santa, fully personalised gifts and letters prepared in advance, and the entire evening shaped around one family. Contact us to arrange a private booking.

    • Did a famous person or celebrity visit this Santa cabin in Levi?

Yes. In December 2024, the cabin in Levi, Finland welcomed one of the most recognised sporting legends on the planet — here with his family for Christmas, just like anyone else. We don’t share names. We don’t need to.
