Hidden Forest Kennel — around 70 dogs, family-run, near Levi
The Hidden Forest Kennel is home to around 70 dogs: Siberian huskies, Arctic-Alaskan huskies and a few reindeer dogs. It is a family-run kennel set among the trees, just 15 minutes from Levi centre. Each dog has its own name and personality. The kennel is dedicated to ethical dog care: the dogs live in spacious enclosures, receive daily attention and regular rest days, and their training is based on trust, motivation and positive reinforcement. The enthusiasm they show at the start of each ride is the result.
The Troll Cart ride through autumn forest
The Troll Cart is a purpose-built wheeled vehicle designed for husky training and riding on snowless ground. Led by experienced mushers, the dogs pull the cart smoothly through forest trails in autumn colour — crisp air, rustling birch leaves, golden pines. The route covers 2.5 km. Guests ride as passengers throughout — no driving or prior experience required.
At the kennel — free-run area with the pack
After the ride, take time to thank your husky team and take photos. Then a guided walk around the kennel to meet more of the dogs. The free-run area is where selected dogs roam and interact freely with guests: no leads, no barriers, genuine contact. The guide explains the dogs’ training, routines and life through the seasons.
Kota hut and warm-up by the fire
The visit ends at a traditional Lappish kota hut with an open fire. Hot berry juice and cookies. A chance to warm up, relax and ask the hosts about husky life in the Arctic.
Do not feed the dogs. They are well fed at the kennel.
Child price applies for ages 2–11. Children under 2: €35.

Important remarks
F.A.Q.
- What is a Troll Cart?
A Troll Cart is a purpose-built wheeled vehicle designed for husky training and riding on snowless terrain. It gives a genuine sense of being pulled by a husky team — the pull, the rhythm, the dogs in harness and working. The surface is just different from snow.
- Is the free-run area safe for young children?
Yes. The guide monitors the interaction throughout. The dogs are well socialised with people. Do not feed the dogs and follow the guide’s instructions at all times.
- What is the difference between the Troll Cart and the Free-Running Husky Visit?
The Troll Cart program at the Hidden Forest Kennel includes a ride, a kennel visit, a free-run area and a kota hut warm-up. The Free-Running Husky Visit at All Huskies is purely a kennel and free-run experience with no ride. The Troll Cart is the right choice if you want the ride as part of the experience; the Free-Running Visit is ideal for those who want to focus entirely on time with the dogs.
- When is the best time for autumn colours?
Late September to mid-October is typically the peak of autumn colour in Lapland. The Troll Cart program opens on 15 September, making it well placed for the best of the season.
Important remarks:
Season: Available 15 Sep – 31 Oct. Autumn only — Troll Cart, not snow sled.
Passengers: Guests ride as passengers. No self-driving.
Dogs: Do not feed the dogs. They are well fed at the kennel.
Insects: In early autumn, mosquitoes may be present. Insect repellent and skin-covering clothing recommended in September.
Children: Child price for ages 2–11. Children under 2: €35.
Not included: Meals, rain gear and insect protection.
Responsibility waiver: Scandinavian Travel Group is not responsible for changes, disruptions or unavailability affecting the husky kennel or any other third-party venue visited during this program, for whatever reason. Where a venue is unavailable, the guide will make reasonable alternative arrangements where possible. No refund is due for circumstances beyond our control.
