Ride Through the Levi Fell Area — Forest Trails, Holiday Area Roads and Cycling Paths
The tour begins with pickup from Levi and a short transfer to the starting point at the edge of the wilderness. The guide helps with bike and helmet fitting and gives a brief riding and safety introduction. Then the group sets off on a 15–20 km route through the Levi fell area. The specific route is selected on the day based on conditions and group ability — all options stay within 5–10 km of Levi centre.
The terrain is varied: forest and wilderness trails, fell-side paths and dedicated cycling tracks through the Levi area. Moderate uphills and descents are made smooth by the electric motor. The pace is relaxed and adapted to the group.
In Winter — Snow-Covered Trails and Arctic Light
The route follows snow-covered forest trails, holiday area roads and cycling paths. The landscape is quiet and white. In January and February, the low Arctic sun sits just above the horizon and the light across the open fell is clear and sharp — a very different ride from summer. Wildlife sightings — reindeer, hares, snow grouse — are possible along the way.
In Summer and Autumn — Forest, Fell and Seasonal Colour
The route runs through Lappish forest, holiday area roads and open fell terrain in full seasonal colour. In late September and October, the fell and forest turn shades of orange, red and yellow. The guide points out landmarks and local wildlife along the way.
Nature Stop with a Hot or Cold Drink
Halfway through the tour, the group pauses at a natural viewpoint for a hot or cold drink. A moment to take in the surroundings, photograph the landscape and ask questions before the return leg.
Ride Safely with Comfort and Power — New 2025 Helkama FE12 Electric Fatbike
You ride a new 2025 Helkama FE12 electric fatbike — Finnish-made for Arctic terrain, equipped with a 708Wh battery. Our electric fatbikes are not available as standalone rental — they are used exclusively in guided tours, which means every bike is used under supervision, properly maintained and in consistently better condition than rental fleets at other operators in the area. The wide tires and powerful motor handle uneven ground, snow, mud and gentle climbs with ease, so the focus stays on the landscape and the ride rather than the effort.

Important remarks
F.A.Q.
- Do I need prior cycling experience?
No. The electric motor does most of the work on uphills and the wide tires give the bike stability on varied terrain. The guide gives a full riding and safety briefing before departure. Basic confidence on a bicycle is helpful but not required.
- What is the difference between the 2–3 hour and 3–4 hour e-fatbike tours?
Both are guided tours with electric fatbikes and a midway stop. The 2–3 hour tour (Levi Fells) covers 15–20 km through the Levi fell area, within 5–10 km of Levi centre — suitable for beginners and families. The 3–4 hour tour (Levi Wilderness) covers a longer distance whenever weather conditions allow, through more demanding terrain in the Kätkä fell area, with a campfire stop at a lean-to or kota hut. Both run in winter and summer–autumn.
- What should I wear?
In winter: warm layered clothing, insulated boots and gloves. In summer and early autumn: comfortable outdoor clothing, sturdy shoes and insect repellent. The guide can advise on the day.
- Is the tour available in both winter and summer?
Yes. Winter season runs 20 November to 31 March; summer–autumn season runs 24 June to 30 October. The route and terrain vary by season — snow trails in winter, fell and forest paths in summer and autumn.
- Why are your electric fatbikes in better condition than at other operators?
Our electric fatbikes are not available as standalone rental. Every bike is used exclusively in guided tours — always with a guide present, always under supervision. This means the bikes are handled correctly, checked after every ride and properly maintained throughout the season. Rental fleets at other operators are used without supervision and often by riders with no prior experience, which results in significantly more wear. Our bikes are also new 2025 models — so you start the season on well-maintained, properly set up equipment from day one.
