E-Fatbike Safari to Secret Reindeer Forest — Herder’s Day with Lunch (Levi)
A 4-hour winter combo program combining a private-trail e-fatbike ride with the full Reindeer Herder’s Day and traditional kota hut lunch. Winter only: Nov 21–Apr 15. Ages 16+, minimum height 150 cm. Warm winter clothing included.
Part 1: 10–15 km e-fatbike ride from the transfer point on private trails built and maintained by STG through Kätkä fell wilderness. No other riders on these trails. The route crosses frozen marshes, open bog and quiet woodland roads. Wildlife sightings (reindeer, hares, snow grouse) possible.
Part 2: The group arrives at the Secret Reindeer Forest — a privately owned old pine and birch forest where Jussi’s family herd roams freely. No other visitors in the area during the visit. One hour with the herd: feeding at multiple spots with hay and pellets, storytelling by the herder about the yearly cycle of herding work.
Kota hut lunch by open fire: the kota chef’s legendary soup with rieska flatbread, grilled reindeer sausage, Finnish pancakes with arctic berry jam and whipped cream, coffee, berry juice and herbal tea. Lasso throwing practice and a personal diploma of reindeer herder’s assistant included.
Reindeer are semi-wild. Remain calm and follow the herder’s instructions at all times. Bike sizes: S (150–170 cm), M (160–180 cm), L (175–195 cm).

- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 21 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 365 days or less before the event
