Snowshoeing — Night Aurora Search, Levi
A 2.5-hour evening snowshoe descent from near the summit of Levi fell to the village centre, operating Dec–Mar. Ages 12+. Moderate level: continuous downhill on uneven terrain. Not suitable for guests with knee problems, heart conditions or mobility issues.
A 5-minute car transfer takes the group above the village lights to the starting point near the summit. The 2–4 km route descends through forest and open fell terrain, finishing at the edge of Levi village next to the main ski slopes — no return transport required. The guide leads the descent with lighting; a personal head torch is useful but not essential.
The guide stops at a viewpoint on the open fell for hot berry juice. The position here — above village lights, open to the north — is among the better spots near Levi for aurora viewing when conditions allow. Northern lights cannot be guaranteed; they depend on solar activity and clear skies.
Minimum snowshoe size EU 36.

Return transport: Not needed. Hike ends in Levi village centre.

Children’s snowshoes: Minimum size EU 36. Age 12 minimum set accordingly. Contact in advance if shoe size is uncertain.
Warm winter clothing: Not included. Available to rent at Safarimarket only. Rental €10. Allow at least 20 minutes before departure if renting.
Pickup: Short car transfer from Levi village included.
Recommendation
- Wear warm, layered clothing and sturdy insulated boots.
- In temperatures below -20°C, face protection is recommended.
- A good head torch is useful but not essential — guides carry lighting.

- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 21 days or less before the event
