Snowmobile Safari to Reindeer Farm — authentic local experience (Levi)
A 4-hour two-part program combining a 25 km snowmobile safari with a full reindeer farm visit, operating Nov–Apr in three seasonal pricing periods. Recommended for ages 10 and above. Adult drivers must be 18+ with a valid driving licence. Group size: maximum 15 people, two visits per day.
Part 1: Snowmobile safari of approximately 25 km on public marked trails and private land sections accessible only to STG guests. Adults ride shared snowmobiles (two per machine); children under 130 cm in a guide-pulled sled. Drivers and passengers may swap halfway. Solo supplement available.
Part 2: The snowmobiles stop at Jussi’s reindeer farm — a multi-generational family operation where the herd of semi-wild reindeer lives freely in nature for most of the year and is brought in for winter feeding and care. Guests feed the reindeer at several stations with hay and pellets as Jussi covers the animals, the seasonal calendar and reindeer husbandry traditions. Approximately one hour outdoors. Reindeer are semi-wild and not tamed for tourist interaction; most will not permit close physical contact.
After the farm visit: kota meal by open fire (grilled reindeer sausage, Finnish pancakes with arctic berry jam and whipped cream, coffee in a pot over the fire, berry juice, herbal tea), lasso throwing practice and a personal Reindeer Herder’s Assistant diploma. Return to Levi by car or minibus — approximately 10 minutes.
Children — important: Recommended for ages 10 and above only. Reindeer are semi-wild animals that roam freely around the group. They may be startled by sudden movements, loud noises or close approach and may run, potentially striking a person with antlers or hooves. Parents must maintain constant supervision throughout the farm visit. Children must remain calm and quiet at all times. STG and the reindeer farm are not liable for accidents involving reindeer during the program.
Snowmobile disclaimer: Clients are liable for damage to snowmobiles. Accident insurance included with €950 deductible per driver; waiver (€35) reduces to €350. If a driver fails to follow Finnish Road Traffic Act or guide’s instructions, all damages must be paid in full. Cancelled below -35°C (-31°F) — full refund or rescheduling. With children: minimum -25°C (-13°F).
Medical: Not recommended for pregnant women or people with back or hip problems. Guests with heart disease, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy or other relevant conditions should consult a medical professional before participating.

Important remarks
Ages: Recommended 10 and above. Not suitable for younger children.

Drivers: Must be 18+ with a valid driving licence (categories B, T, A1 or A, EU/EEA or Geneva/Vienna Convention countries). Electronic licences not accepted. Carry licence on safari.
Alcohol: Zero tolerance. Drivers may be breathalysed before departure. No refund if denied participation.
Insurance: €950 deductible per driver. Waiver (€35) reduces to €350 — purchase at booking or before departure.
Weather: Cancelled below -35°C (-31°F); full refund or rescheduling. With children: minimum -25°C (-13°F).
Pickup: Free pick-up and drop-off from several designated locations in the Levi area.
Recommendation
- Wear thermal base layers under the provided suit.
- Two pairs of socks recommended — thick wool on top.
- The farm visit involves approximately one hour standing outdoors in cold conditions.
- Bring your driving licence.
Cancellation Policy
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 21 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 365 days or less before the event
