Wilderness Reindeer Herder’s Day — snowmobile sled & soup lunch, Levi
A 3-hour program reaching a reindeer enclosure deep in the wilderness by snowmobile sled (both ways), operating Dec 1 – Apr 15 in three seasonal pricing periods. The location is accessible only by sled — part of the route runs on private land. Groups up to approximately 10 people; maximum 2 departures per day.
From the Levi pickup point, guests transfer by snowmobile sled through open bogs, forests and fell terrain to the reindeer enclosure. The program includes approximately 1 hour outdoors feeding and observing reindeer at several locations. The farm owner covers reindeer biology, husbandry traditions and the herder’s annual cycle. Reindeer are semi-wild; most are shy and do not permit close contact, though some may allow touching.
The program continues in the kota hut: vegetable soup, grilled reindeer sausage, Finnish pancakes with Arctic berry jam and whipped cream, coffee made in a pot over the fire, berry juice, herbal tea and marshmallows. Lasso throwing practice and a personal diploma of reindeer herder’s assistant are included. Return to Levi by snowmobile sled then car or minibus.
Warm winter clothing is included and collected at Safarimarket, Levi centre, before departure.
Child price applies for ages 2–11. Children under 2: €35.

Recommendation
- Warm clothing is provided.
- Wear thermal layers and two pairs of woollen socks underneath. The sled ride out is 15 minutes in open-air conditions; the return is approximately 10 minutes.
Cancellation Policy
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 21 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 365 days or less before the event
