Sámi Reindeer Safari Express by the Ounasjoki Rapids, Levi
A 2-hour program at a reindeer farm on the banks of the Ounasjoki River, where the rapids remain unfrozen even in the coldest Arctic winter. The farm is run by Johanna, her mother and their team, with decades of experience in traditional reindeer herding and roots partly in Sámi culture. Operating Dec 1 – Apr 6.
The program includes a 1 km reindeer sled ride, a guided corral visit where guests can feed young reindeer calves with lichen, and time in the farm’s traditional guesthouse with hot drinks, homemade pastries and a short presentation on reindeer herding traditions and daily farm life. Souvenirs available to purchase on site.
Reindeer are semi-wild animals. Although accustomed to people, they can behave unpredictably. Guests must follow the guide’s instructions and remain calm near the reindeer.
Child price applies for ages 2–11. Children under 2: €35.

Warm winter clothing: Not included. Available to rent from Safarimarket, Levi centre at €12. Allow at least 20 minutes before departure if renting.
Pickup: Free pick-up and drop-off from several designated locations in the Levi area.

Cancellation Policy
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 21 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 365 days or less before the event
