Super Reindeer Safari, Levi
A 2.5-hour reindeer farm visit on the banks of the Ounasjoki River, operating Dec 1 – Apr 6. The farm is managed by Johanna and her family, who have decades of hands-on reindeer herding experience and Sámi roots. The Ounasjoki rapids remain partially unfrozen throughout winter; the old barn on the property was historically a stopover for northern travellers.
The program includes a 3 km reindeer sled ride through forest terrain (approximately 30 minutes), corral time with young reindeer calves fed with lichen, a brief presentation on traditional reindeer herding, and a warm-up in the guesthouse with hot drinks and homemade pastries. Souvenirs available to purchase on site.
Reindeer are semi-wild animals. Although accustomed to people, they can behave unpredictably. Follow the guide’s instructions at all times when near the animals.
Child price applies for ages 2–11. Children under 2: €35.

Important remarks
Reindeer behaviour: Semi-wild animals. Can behave unpredictably. Follow the guide’s instructions at all times and remain calm near the animals.
Warm winter clothing: Not included. Available to rent from Safarimarket, Levi centre at €12. Allow at least 20 minutes before departure if renting.
Pickup: Free pick-up and drop-off from several designated locations in the Levi area.
Child pricing: Child price applies for ages 2–11. Children under 2: €35.
Recommendation
- Wear thermal layers and insulated boots.
- The sleigh ride involves sitting still for approximately 30 minutes in cold temperatures.
- Allow at least 20 minutes before departure if renting clothing.
Cancellation Policy
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 21 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 365 days or less before the event
