Husky Self-Drive Safari 10 km (Levi)
A 2.5–3 hour self-drive husky safari at Lapland Wild Witch kennel in Tepasto, 30 km north of Levi. Dec 1 – Mar 31. Ages 7+ recommended. More physically demanding than the 5 km safari due to open, exposed terrain. Maximum 8 guests per ride (4 sled teams), maximum 3 sessions per day.
Lapland Wild Witch is a small specialist kennel by design — approximately 40 dogs (Siberian huskies, Arctic-Alaskan huskies and three reindeer dogs), run by a professional musher who lives on site. Dog welfare is central: rest days, vet checks, physiotherapy, free-running time, high-quality food and small group numbers.
The 10 km route begins along a frozen river, then continues out onto open frozen swamp: flat, wide, unobstructed. The treeline drops away and the fell horizon appears in the distance. More diverse and exposed than the 5 km route. Riding time is approximately 30–40 minutes. A midway stop allows driver and passenger to swap places.
After the ride: kennel walk, time in the free-run area with the dogs, then hot berry juice and cookies in the kota hut by the fire. Remove gloves and mittens before touching the dogs. Do not feed them.
Child price applies for ages 2–11. Children under 2: €35.
Warm winter clothing is not included. Available to rent at Safarimarket, Levi centre (Keskuskuja 2 B 3) only. Cannot be sent to other pickup points. Allow at least 20 minutes before departure to get dressed.

- Ski goggles not provided — bring your own.

Sled capacity: Up to 2 adults and 1 small child (under 7). Final seating decided on site by the host.
Group size: Maximum 8 guests per ride (4 sled teams). Maximum 3 groups per day.
Single supplement: Required when the number of guests in a party is odd. Exception: a small child under 7 can ride as a third passenger. Contact us before booking if in doubt.

Pickup: Free pick-up and drop-off from several designated locations in the Levi area.
Recommendation
- Wear warm winter clothing including thermal base layers, insulated boots and mittens.
- This safari covers open exposed terrain — face protection is recommended in cold or windy conditions, and hand warmers are useful.
- Ski goggles are strongly recommended — not provided, bring your own.

- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 21 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 365 days or less before the event
