During: Summer 1.08 - Late autumn 31.10.
Experience the magic of Arctic summer and autumn with this unforgettable husky adventure in Lapland, just a 30-minute drive from Levi. This program combines a husky kennel visit with a scenic walk with huskies, a forest campfire break, and traditional Finnish pancakes served with local cloudberry jam.
Your visit begins at a cozy, family-owned husky kennel located about a 30-minute drive from Levi, home to over 40 well-cared-for dogs — including Siberian and Arctic-Alaskan huskies, as well as a friendly house reindeer dog. Upon arrival, you'll meet Mari, the kennel owner, and get paired with your own husky companion on a leash.
Together, you’ll set off on a guided 1,5 km husky walk along peaceful countryside roads and forest paths toward the banks of the Ounasjoki River — one of the most scenic and tranquil river stretches in the region.
Your destination is a forest hut (kota) set directly on the riverbank, where you’ll be surrounded by Lapland’s calm nature and the soothing sound of flowing water. Inside the cozy hut, heated by open fire, you’ll have time to cuddle and photograph the dogs in a relaxed setting.
As you rest by the fire, Mari will prepare traditional Finnish crepes (lätty) over the flames and serve them with wild Arctic cloudberry jam and a hot drink — a true taste of local hospitality. You’ll also hear fun and informative facts about husky life, their care routines, and what it’s like to run a kennel year-round.
After the break, you’ll walk back to the kennel with the dogs and have a chance to greet the rest of the pack before returning to Levi.
