  • Ice Karting, Levi — Two Sessions on Ice, 5 Minutes from Levi Centre

    Why this stands out

    • The track is 5 minutes from Levi centre by shuttle — no long transfer
    • Studded tyres and quiet four-stroke engines: fast enough to be exciting, controlled enough to be safe for beginners
    • Two sessions with a break means time to find your feel for the track and improve — not just one lap and done
    • Full racing gear provided on site — helmet, balaclava, shoes, gloves, overalls — nothing to bring
    • No driving licence required, minimum height 145 cm
    • Inspired by Finland’s legendary rally culture: a genuinely Finnish way to spend an hour

    The program

The shuttle departs from Hissitie 11, in front of Kotipizza Levi (across from Zero Point). On arrival at the track, the group gathers in the drivers’ pit zone for a safety briefing and driving tips. Then into the racing gear: helmet, balaclava, shoes, gloves and overalls are all provided.

The program includes two driving sessions of approximately 15 minutes each. In between, the group warms up outdoors by an open fire with hot berry juice. The break is a natural opportunity to talk lap times and get ready for the second session.

On the circuit: studded tyres give grip but allow controlled slides. The quiet four-stroke engines respond clearly to throttle input, which makes it straightforward to learn the basics of driving on ice. The track and karts are the same for all experience levels — beginners and more experienced drivers use the same equipment.

    Inspired by Finnish rally culture

Finland has produced more World Rally Championship drivers per capita than any other country. Ice karting at Levi is the easiest and most accessible way to understand why: the way a car behaves on ice — the slide, the correction, the throttle balance — is something you feel in the seat, not something you can watch from a distance. No licence, no previous experience, just 145 cm and a willingness to try.

    Optional add-ons

Available on the day at the track: soup lunch in the warm café (soup, bread and butter, coffee or tea); snowtubing on two illuminated slides of different lengths (2-hour ticket from departure time). Spectators can join the transport subject to available capacity and a supplement charge.

    Responsibility waiver

Scandinavian Travel Group is not responsible for changes, disruptions or unavailability affecting the ice karting track or any third-party venue. No refund is due for circumstances beyond our control. STG reserves the right to adjust the program if a participant is considered a danger to themselves or others or fails to follow safety instructions.

    Important remarks

    F.A.Q.

    • Do I need a driving licence?

No. No driving licence is required. The minimum requirement is a height of 145 cm (to reach the pedals) and compliance with the zero alcohol tolerance rule.

    • Can beginners drive?

Yes. Ice karting is specifically described as a beginner-friendly activity. The safety briefing and driving tips before the first session are designed to give first-timers everything they need. The studded tyres and four-stroke karts are manageable for guests with no prior karting or motorsport experience.

    • What is the minimum height?

145 cm. This is a physical requirement to reach the pedals safely. Maximum driver weight is 100 kg. Driving is not permitted during pregnancy or with relevant injuries.

    • Is there a breathalyzer test?

Yes. Zero alcohol tolerance applies. All drivers must pass a breathalyzer test before driving. Anyone who does not pass will not be permitted to drive; no refund applies in this case.

    • Where does the shuttle depart from?

The shuttle stop is at Hissitie 11, in front of Kotipizza Levi, across the road from Zero Point in Levi centre. Private transfer from accommodation is also available at extra charge.

    • Can non-drivers (spectators) come along?

Yes, subject to available transport capacity. A supplement charge applies for spectators. Ask at the time of booking.

    • What optional add-ons are available?

At the track: soup lunch in the warm café (soup, bread and butter, coffee or tea); snowtubing on two illuminated slides (2-hour ticket from departure time).
