Customer service and sales of excursions and activities in a local travel company office in Levi (Finnish Lapland) to walk-in clients. Work place: “Safarimarket” travel shop. Location: center of Levi resort, Lapland. Main working language: English. Knowledge of Finnish, French, Dutch, Spanish languages is a big plus. Work schedule: according to agreement.
Safarimarket is a travel shop of Scandinavian Travel Group (STG), focused on selling excursions and activities in Lapland for walk-in travelers on their holidays in Levi. About 30% of our clients book excursions in advance online and 70% come to the shop upon arrival to Levi and book here. Our clients mainly come from European countries: UK, France, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, East European countries: Romania and Ukraine and some from Asian countries: Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong China, Indonesia, Kazakhstan. Most of the excursion destinations are in Levi, but some are also in the other parts of Lapland (e.g. Ylläs, Rovaniemi, Ranua) and also neighboring countries of Norway and Sweden. We offer a full range of winter activities, including arctic animals (huskies, reindeers, horses), nature and well-being (snowshoeing, Northern Lights search, fat-biking, smoke sauna), motorsport adventure (ice karting, snowmobile safaris, winter rally driving), culture and history places (Saami heritage, local artists, handicraft workshops), Christmas theme (meeting with Santa Claus, visiting Elves kingdom, day trip to Santa Claus village in Rovaniemi), and day-trips to Arctic Circle Santa village in Rovaniemi, Ice breaker, Snow and Ice hotel, King Crab safari, etc.
Required skills/experience/knowledge:
- experience of min. 1 year working in a similar position in a travel company in Finland/Scandinavian countries is a great advantage;
- if not the above, than experience of min. 1 year in customer service and sales in a shop
- good teamworking skills;
- excellent command of written and spoken English (min. C1);
- customer service aptitude
- high-level of self-discipline and accuracy;
- capable of working in a team;
- eagerness to learn new products.

There are 2 main areas of guide work: weekly scheduled group activities and private programs.
And there are 2 types of activity programs: excursion activities (reindeer and husky farms visits, snow hotel, day-trips) and outdoor adventure and evening activities (snowshoeing, fat-biking, Northern Lights programs).
Our guide should be keen on storytelling, and be prepared to accumulate and retell lots of information about arctic animals, local lifestyle, culture, history, geography, climate and traditions.
Most of our guided excursions and activities are local, based in Levi and Rovaniemi. Some of them require driving to other areas of Lapland: Rovaniemi, Ranua and also neighboring countries Norway and Sweden.
