Electric Snowmobile Safari & Reindeer Experience

  • 3 hours
  • Easy
  • 3+
  • Description
  • Pick-up
  • Head out into the Porovaara forest on an electric snowmobile, riding through wide stretches of untouched Lapland wilderness. Because the engines are electric, there's no roar — just the sound of snow under the runners and the forest around you. It makes the whole ride feel more like gliding than driving, and gives you a chance to actually take in the scenery instead of just powering through it.

Along the way, we stop for a short break to enjoy the views, and once you're back, there's a fire waiting with hot berry juice and a few snacks. Your guide will fill you in on the area, local life, and what everyday winter looks like up here.

The safari also includes a stop to see our reindeer in their natural habitat — you can get close and hand-feed them, which tends to be everyone's favourite part.

Just 20 minutes from Rovaniemi centre, it's a good pick if you want to get properly out into Arctic nature without a lot of noise or fuss.

    What's included

Transportation – to Porovaara's private area and back

✅ Approx. 50 minutes driving an electric snowmobile on private trails (two people per snowmobile, with the option to swap drivers)

Break (approx. 10 min) on a private route, admiring Lapland's nature and silence.

✅ Visit to our private reindeer fence – meet and hand-feed the reindeer

Campfire experience – grill sausages and enjoy a hot juice

Expert guiding and snowmobile driving instructions

✅ Warm winter clothing, boots, and helmet provided

    Important remarks

    • The minimum number of participants required for this activity is two paying adults.
    • This activity depends on snow. If the snowmobile tour is cancelled because of the lack of snow in early winter (November-December) or late spring (April), the refund is 100%.
    • Duration of 3 hours includes the transport time needed to arrive to our location and to return to the pick-up place.
    • Driver must be at least 18 years old with a driving license, which is valid in Finland.
    • You are not allowed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while driving.
    • 2 people (from the same family or group) get on one snowmobile. Drivers are changed halfway through the ride if necessary.
    • The guide pulls a covered, heated sleigh where the children under 12 years old can go.
    • You need to bring suitable underwear, e.g. a warm layer.
    • You can take your camera and phone along for the ride.
    • Pick-ups 10 km from Rovaniemi city center are included in the price. Pick-ups further than 10 km from city center are possible with extra fee ( + 2 €/km), which can be paid to the guide
