Meet the Reindeer like a local with a snowmobile sled, Levi
A 3-hour program at a traditional family reindeer farm reached by snowmobile sled, operating Dec 1 – Apr 15 in three seasonal pricing periods. The farm is run by a local reindeer herder whose family has maintained long-standing reindeer husbandry traditions. Maximum 2 departures per day; groups up to approximately 15 people.
From the Levi pickup point, guests transfer by snowmobile sled through open bogs, forests and fell terrain on partly private land to the reindeer enclosure. On arrival, guests spend approximately 1 hour outdoors feeding and observing reindeer at several feeding locations across the farm. The farm owner covers reindeer biology, husbandry traditions and the herder’s annual cycle. Reindeer are semi-wild; most are shy and do not permit close contact, though some may allow touching.
The program continues in the kota hut by the open fire: grilled reindeer sausage, Finnish pancakes with Arctic berry jam and whipped cream, coffee made in a pot over the fire, berry juice and herbal tea. Lasso throwing practice and a personal diploma of reindeer herder’s assistant are included. Return to Levi by car or minibus directly from the farm.
Warm winter clothing is included and collected at Safarimarket, Levi centre, before departure.
Child price applies for ages 2–11. Children under 2: €35.

Reindeer behaviour: Semi-wild animals. Accustomed to people but can behave unpredictably. Follow the guide’s instructions at all times. Most reindeer will not permit close physical contact.

Recommendation
- Warm clothing is provided.
- Wear thermal layers and two pairs of woollen socks underneath.
- The program involves approximately one hour standing outdoors in cold conditions.
Cancellation Policy
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 21 days or less before the event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 365 days or less before the event
